My sister and I were recently doing some cross border shopping in the USA when we stopped at T.G.I. FRiDAYS for dinner. I had the Jack Daniel's Black Angus Shrimp & Sirloin - OH MY GOODNESS!!! The steak was perfect, the Jack Daniel's Sauce sumblime but I was also impressed by the tomato salad. The salad was slightly chilled, sweet, crunchy and delicious with bits of cheese..
I had to recreate it and I believe this fits the bill. Now some of you purist may prefer you steak naked, a little salt, a little pepper and that's it. I like that too but other times I like the flavour a great marinade can give. This marinade also helps tenderize ever so slightly.
I started with these, 2.49kg = approximately 5.5lbs It's the season and they are out in abundance, the DANDELION!
I have to admit that I'm a hypocrite. I love fields of these little yellow beauties, I admire sheets of yellow along the roadside, I think they are pretty... BUT...and it's a big BUT...I don't like them on my lawn! Done 2 ways.I cut the cabbage in half and then cut out some of the core.
