Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes with a milk chocolate icing drizzed with caramel sauce and sprinkled with toffee bits - how does that sound? Easy? Because it is! On a recent trip to the U.S. I checked out a grocery store, I always do, I'm weird that way. I came across this Duncan Hines Caramel cake-ummm YES! It's not available in Canada so I say we write them, picket them and do what we can to get this delicious boxed mix here in Canada! I have to do a big shout out to Reynolds Canada, they have in my opinion the best baking cups ever...EVER! They peel away from the cupcake so easily, they stay vibrant when baked, foil lined and so pretty. People always comment on them & I'm not being paid to say that :) I made my own Milk Chocolate Frosting using a Martha Stewart recipe and it's delicious. Here's the recipe: (printable recipe at bottom of post) MILK CHOCOLATE FROSTING
DIRECTIONS:
I piped the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes & drizzeled with caramel and sprinkled on the toffee bits. Oh so yummy, oh so decadent. My sister and a few friends are participating in Bust a Move for breast health, it's a day of excercise to promote breast cancer awareness. I took all these cupcakes to a friends work to be sold to raise more funds for this great cause. I'm so proud of their team, they raised over $11,000 so far! Way to go girls!
