If you've never made these before....You've just GOTTA TRY THEM!
The recipe HERE. They are unbelievably simple! As a child growing up I felt lucky that my grandparents lived with us, they had a totally separate basement apartment and it was the best experience ever. I remember watching Lawrence Welk, Mutual of Ohamaha's Wild Kingdom, Little House on the Praire or the Waltons with them.
The vision in my left eye has been blurry the past 3 or 4 days, blurry around the outside with a clear focal point towards the middle - strange.
Being diabetic I thought it's best to go see my optometrist, I have never had vision issues in the past, in fact, I've had perfect vision only needing readers (because of age - *sigh*) I have 2 large bird feeders and a suet feeder and every morning I throw out a handful of peanuts for the squirrels, who usually fight the Blue Jays for them. The squirrels usually clean up the seeds that have fallen to the ground but I guess this guy was extra hungry.
We have a beautiful wall of windows in our great room and it's wonderful, it lets the sunshine in, let's me see all the wildlife and lets me watch the birds. I have feeders in the backyard beyond the deck and every once in a while I hear a thud.... a bird flies into the window - hate that!
I loved this growing up and still love this hearty dish, it's simple & kid friendly - perfect! More photos & recipe HERE.
it's cold, really cold - the kinda cold that hurts your bones. maybe I'm just getting old :) -28 celsius with the wind chill ~ Brrrrrrr
It's sunny outside today & warm inside, I shouldn't complain. |
