The taste of a juicy orange in a cupcake topped with a creamy, dreamy orange frosting.......... light, fresh & scrumptious. Let me tell you how this all came about. I registered to be a member of the Bakers Club at Duncan Hines. It's FREE, open to anyone and there are recipes, coupons, special promotions etc. A couple weeks ago they picked 100 members of the club and sent them a special gift of goodies. You can register here Duncan Hines Canada or Duncan Hines USA They didn't ask for anything in return but did say "If you make something with what we sent you, take a picture and post it on our FaceBook page." I tweeked everything a bit and now I'm sharing it with you, honestly it was super easy and no one has to know it came from a box and a can. Filled the cupcake cups and popped them in the oven. I tried one naked, au naturel, just as you see it and Y-U-M! While they were cooling I mixed up my frosting base and flavour pack. Oh so easy...... and........ TA DA !!! I would take these anywhere, someone invite me somewhere, I'll bring these they are so light, fresh and orangy. Summer in a cupcake wrapper. Orange Dream Cupcakes
Do not follow the directions on the box, follow directions below. 1. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, sugar, and orange zest, orange juice, canola oil, vanilla extract and eggs. Blend with the mixer on low speed for one minute, then speed it up to medium and beat for 2 more minutes. 2. Fill cupcake papers about 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake at 350F until golden in color and a toothpick test comes out clean, about20-25 minutes. 3. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. Frosting Mix one can of Duncan Hines Frosting Creations with the Orange Creme flavour package and frost your cupcakes as desired, I added orange zest on top for that extra pop of flavour. Bon Appetit
