Chocolate covered Pretzels
There are a million ways to top pretzel rods and the combination of sweet & salty is hard to resist.
The first thing I do is put down lots of parchment paper and then put all my toppings in little bowls so they are easy to work with. You can use whatever topping you wish, use your imagination and have fun.

I prefer to use Merckens candy melts, they melt perfectly, come in a variety of colours and I get mine at the Bulk Barn in Canada. There are other candy melts available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Walmart etc. and any will work but Merckens is my go to brand.

I melt a cup of wafers in the microwave for 30 secs at 50%, check it, give it a stir and pop it back in for another 10-15 seconds.
I spoon the melted wafters over the pretzels, tap off the excess coating, lay them down on the parchment and then add my toppings. I usually coat 6 pretzel rods and then top all 6, then coat and top....
I've used every topping imaginable - coconut, peanuts, mini peanut butter chips, coloured sprinkles, Reeses pieces, M&Ms, drizzles with white chcoclate, dipped with white, added peanut butter chips to my wafers and melted together.... endless possoibilities I tell ya.

Then I packaged them all up and they are ready to give away!!

Chocolate dipped pretzels are my favourite! I usually make a ganache (bitter- or semi-sweet chocolate chips and a touch of hot cream to melt them) to dip. Cuz I'm cheap ;) I don't buy the pretzel rods. I just use PC multigrain waffle pretzels, dip halfway and decorate. Some nights I'll make a small bowl of ganache and have chocolate pretzels with my tea. No sprinkles required!
