I'm just lovin' November so far, only a few days in and it's 22c or 72f, the sun is shining, the skies are blue and the colours of fall are just gorgeous. Daylight savings has me in a bit of a fluster, I'm pooped at 6pm and ready for bed because it's pitch black out and then I'm up at the crack of dawn. This crazy cycle will take a week or so to get used to. This is sunrise in the backyard. So what do you do on a beautiful November day... get out there and enjoy it, go for a walk, soak in the warmth of the sunshine and enjoy all it's glory before the dreaded white stuff falls. I thought I would share a few snaps of the sunshine and scenery in this slideshow, such a fabulous day.

When planning the Dorchester Fair, we had talked about this idea for a few years, we finally made it happen. See the results HERE
It's been a busy month for me, busy at work, busy at play and busy volunteering....... more HERE.
I painted this door when we first moved in over a year ago and it just makes me happy to walk through it everyday, especially in the fall when crimsons and goldsz are covering the trees and ground.
Today is officially the first day of fall but here in Southern Ontario the days are still warm, the evening chill makes for a good night sleep and the mornings are crisp and dewy.
I have noticed in the last week that a few maple trees have been touched by Mother Nature's paint brush, small touches of bright reds and oranges but the real fall glory shows it the last coule weeks of October, perfect for Thanksgiving and Halloween. With autumn only a few days away these are a perfect treat.
Two ingredients, they taste amazing and they fill your home with the fragrance of fall....So easy, so delicious! The non-recipe (because they are so easy) is HERE. Yesterday was a tough day, it's never easy saying good bye to a companion. Demon aka: Big Boy was a rescue that had a rough start in life but the last 13 years or so he was treated like a king, he was the boss and he knew it. Saturday his breathing was stressed and he was lathargic, yesterday when petting him and looking into his watery eyes, I knew it was time. he was unable to walk 10' without collapsing and gasping for air. Wrapped in a blanket we took him to the animal hospital and they agreed...
I whispered in his ear and held him tightly while he drifted off into his forever sleep..... I worte about his story back in July 2014. I still remember the moment it happened and where I was....
The rest of the day is a blurr, a day of tears, heartache and pain. A sad day in history never to be forgotten. |
