I volunteer with a couple different groups in town and one of them is the North Dorchester Agricultural Society/Dorchester Fair. This year we are hosting an event called Art in the Barn, its 4 buildings full of artisians, crafters, bakers, hand made clothing a farmers market and more. One of our vendors Wendy also has a booth at the London Farmers and Artiians Market in London Ontario. She convinced me to visit this market and take a look and I;m so glad she did, only 15 minutes from my home, I can't believe I've never been before, it was fantastic. I spent 2 1/2 hours taking in the sights, sounds and wonderful smells. Come take a tour with me... These are Wendy's wonderful creations, not only a potter but she paints on stone too. Loved this booth, Slate is a business that takes old things and upcycles them into completely unique one of a kind pieces. There's a little bit of everything, something old, something new, handmade, recycled and more... So many unique jewelry pieces. These aprons are fabulous, bright colourful and reversible and the best thing is that they are made by World Tailors. Since fall of 2011 World Tailors has provided a place to learn sewing, banking marketing to refugees and immigrant women who otherwise may not have the skills to help them suceed in a new country. What a great idea! There was lots of beautiful artisian breads..... and cheese.... pies and tarts.... and so much more. Whatever you are looking for can be found here... The last thing I noticed while leaving the building was this awesome vending machine, the Vending Arts Project. Beautifully created cards by local artists - what a unique idea! Hope you enjoyed the tour.
