Sometimes I struggle when deciding what colour to paint furniture to sell but not this time! I was surfing through Pinterest (don't we all?) when I found a 'pin' of this beautiful Tiffany gift box. I knew i just had to paint something this colour - this was my inspiration. I had this beautiful dresser, it was perfect in every way. It was solid wood, heavy as heck, dovetail drawers, beautiful lines, dust covered drawers, wooden glides and made in Canada -perfect. I love looking up the history of furniture and this beauty was made by Malcolm Better Built Furniture. This furniture company was started around 1874 in Kincardine Ontario, not too far from where I am right now, by Andrew Malcolm. At one time this was Canada's premier furniture company and the made furniture with the patented 'indestruco finish'. I love that all the drawers are numbered so they are placed exactly where they need to go, now that's craftsmanship! Now I have the perfect dresser, I need the perfect paint so I headed off to search for it. i thought the day couldn't get any better but it did, I'm in the paint department and stop at their 'boo boo' paint and low & behold the exact Tiffany coloured paint I was looking for... $5.00 for this pretty mistint, $5.00 I say AND it was a cabinet/furniture blend - Woohoooooo! I rush home and started on this baby! She needed a little love, a little repair but she was worth it. Yup, this dresser is a she and her name is Tiffany. In my paint booth all ready to go, the other 2 pieces are sad they aren't getting the attention Tiffany is. Repair, sand paint, sand paint sand paint....yup, that's the process. Diamond inspired knobs and silver handles were a no brainer. Isn't she beautiful, gorgeous colour on the outside, great bones on the inside - Tiffany is perfect in everyway!
