May Long Weekend

It's a long weekend here in Canada and boy do we love our long weekends, especially this one. This is our official 'welcome summer' weekend. Open the cottage, roast marshmallows, camp kinda weekend. Fish, garden, bbq, kick back relax kinda weekend. We squish mosquitos and blackflies with our bare hands, wipe it on our clothes and carry on.
We open our pools, sit by the lake and clink our beer bottles, last one in the 20c (68f) water is a WUSS, you won't go in the water????
                            Well, then you aren't really Canadian...
You should return to work on Tuesday with a sunburnt scalp, mosquito bites and a hangover, you'll vow never to do it again...well, until the July 1st celebrations anyways. Did I forget to mention, someone always gets hurt? A finger gets crushed in a door while chasing each other around with a bucket of cold water, tossing horseshoes someone gets whacked in the shin, a rusty dock nail in your foot, baseball to the forehead.... something always happens!

I forgot to mention, all the celebrations are because it's the late
  Queen Victoria's Birthday. 
I don't think I've ever really celebrated her birthday unless of course you consider the entire weekend a birthday party and beer pong is just one of the games. Hmmmm, burgers, hot dogs, pizza and games.....
 maybe I have been celebrating all along.
