Get the recipe HERE or go to my Whats Cooking TAB I've been cocooning lately, staying inside, staying home when possible and relaxing when I'm able. I enjoy cocooning in the winter months, usually January and February, snuggling up, warm socks, warm jammies and a little more tv than usual. Don't get me wrong, I would rather be up and at 'em, soaking up the rays, buzzing around here and there but the dull winter days make me want to hibernate. I realized that I haven't posted much in the way of projects lately, I was busy at Christmas and then fizzled. As I cocoon until spring, I find myself cooking more, I do have a bunch of ideas that I just need to get cracking on. In the meantime, I have couple more recipes coming and a few tutorials.
Stay tuned, stay warm, spring is right around the corner. Enjoy your day! Keep on reading.......... Today, Monday January 4, 2013 Canada will start phasing out the penny. The Canadian federal government says the time has come to stop making these 1 cent pieces. They take up too much time and space, and they cost too much to make.
So here's the scoop..........
I worked at a Trade Show this weekend and the concession stand was serving pulled pork on a bun, sausage on a bun, chicken & rice soup or potato & leek soup. I opted for the dish that would least likely give me samonella, the soup. You know, these convention centres don't have a reputation for gourmet food, usually its the complete opposite, dry, bland & over cooked food. Well, this soup was one of the best soups I have ever had, it was rich and creamy with thick slices of potatoes, I've been dreaming of it ever since. Obviously I had to recreate it.
