I'm thinking we should do a spare room with two twin beds, it would be great for girl friends sleeping over, nieces, or nephews or even couples
 (I know secretly they want their own bed).

I recently did a post on how to pick an area rug, you can read it HERE.  Shortly after that I received a message from a shy follower saying that they have been without a rug for 3 years, she's too nervous to buy. 
What if it's not right?

 Ask the store what their return policy is and if it doesn't work - return it. I've worked with several stores that will let you 'borrow' an area rug, they keep your credit card number on file and if it's not returned in the agreed upon time, they'll charge you the price of the rug.

I LOVE area rugs, I would have to say it's a bit of an addiction.
Your floor is your 5th wall, an important visual when you walk into a room. An area rug ground the room, dictate a style and it's also an 
inexpensive way to change up the look of a room.

Summer is officially here and the perfect time to let nature inspire you!
The grass is green, the trees, plants & fields are green. Lettuce, cucumber, spinach, peppers and onions are green, hurray!

From the Urban Dictionary  - GIRLY : An adjective that describes the sort of girl whose favourite colour is pink and isn't afraid to flaunt it through her line of clothing. She is stereotyped with wearing long hair, skirts/dresses and that sorta girly stuff.

Being a hot colour for 2013 and the birthstone for the month of May I thought I would share how the designers have been influenced by this rich jewel tone.

Have you ever picked a paint colour in the store, loved it, but got it home and it looked totally different? Colours change when viewed under different lighting conditions. Some colours that tend to look quite different under certain lighting conditions are gray, grayed-blues, taupes, tans, grayed-greens, grayed-yellows and mauves.

Natural sunlight is considered the idea light source it maintains a neutral balance between the warm (yellow cast) and cool (blue cast) ends of the light spectrum. Here, direct sunlight provides the truest rendition of the colors in this room.

Northern light is the coolest, while light from a southern
exposure is most intense.

It's not a scary yellow, it's smooth, it's soft and oh so yummy.
I have always loved yellows, not the bright school bus yellow, not rubber ducky yellow but instead yellows that are upbeat, warm, happy & fresh.

I just wanted to share my love of yellow without going crazy with yellow overload. You can add touches of yellow to bring a little happiness & use different tones to add interest.

This is a colour wheel, a simplified colour wheel, it's bright, it's colourful, it's round and it frightens a lot of people. I have taught many a room full of adults how to use this universal tool, the first response....deer in the head lights look. This is a great little tool and once you learn how to use it, a light bulb will go off and you'll see colour in a whole new way.

   I loved wythe blue HC-143. Part of their Historic Collection (HC) I thought this colour was steeped in tradition, blues, greens & grays could all be pulled from this one chip. I found this to be a friendly colour, a colour people didn't shy away from, a colour people liked to use in their homes. Oh so pretty.
