So I got this beat up dresser, beautiful maple, dovetailed drawers and boy oh boy this baby needed some lovin'. Big time lovin! I got out my van Gogh fossil paint in Sparta green, a beautifully creamy sage colour and went to work on this hidden gem. I sanded the top down because it was in such bad shape and then painted the entire piece distressed lightly where needed. After the paint dried I applied a clear wax, then a dark wax rubbing in & rubbing off as I went. The results are a slightly distressed, antiqued piece, restored to a look that is even much better than it's natural maple finish. I loved the look and finish of the exisiting hardware but changed two tiny knobs opting instead for two antiqued glass knobs - beautiful! Now this little pretty is all ready for a new home!
I know, I know, fit right in at my place but I can't keep everything I paint...can I?
