I can't remember all the Halloweens I celebrated as a child but certain ones do come to mind. Here in Ontario Canada you never know what the weather will be like, warm, snow, rain, sleet ... I've experienced it all. One year when I was 4 or 5 it was so cold out that I wore my red snow suit and went out as Santa, I remember everyone asked me for presents. For many years my mom would dress up like a witch, sit on a chair near the front door and scare the kids as they came up for candy. I loved that! The house on the next block over put a bage on their carport and the owner dressed up like a gorilla, he would bust down the cage and chase the kids. I loved that too! One of my favourite houses to go to was the one that gave away little toys you would noramlly get from gumball machines. He must have owned a vending machine company, best treats ever! I never liked getting cans of pop, too heavy! Candy apples, homemade treats and weird stuff always got thrown out by mom as soon as we got home. Peanuts, YUK, I never liked getting peanuts, I don't think they do that anymore because of allergies. Suckers, none of us girls liked getting suckers. When our bag was too heavy, we would come home, dump it and start fresh. We would give mom all our suckers to hand out to the kids who visited our house....lol. Carving pumpkins was always my favourite thing to do! Have a safe & Happy Halloween everyone!!!
