I made these back at Christmas and they are so tasty that I would eat them constantly so I only make them for holidays now and I made them again for Easter. This time I experimented with colours and look how pretty they turned out. I started out with Merckens coatings, I picked spring colours, white chocolate, milk chocolate as well as peanut butter flavoured pieces. I experimented with 1 piece per pretzel and that wasn't enough so I put 2 pieces pieces per pretzel. I then put them in a preheated 200 degree oven for about 3 minutes, watch carefully. When you pull them out of the oven, push an M&M into each one squishing down so that the coating reaches the sides of the pretzels. I placed my M&M's with the 'M' facing down so you just see a plain candy. I used the easter M&M's as they come in such pretty colours. Here's the peanut butter ones, our new favourite, peanutbutter & pretzels together are yumalicious. The fun part is deciding what clours to put with each coloured coating. Now here they sit all ready to be packaged up. I just love looking at them and of course taking pictures of them they are just gorgeous!
Quick Recap, no recipe needed as these are so easy. I used Merckens Candy Coatings but Hershey's Kisses or other candy coatings such as Wiltons would work. Preheat oven to 200 degrees f, line cookie sheet with parchment paper, put candy pieces in pretzels, pop into oven for 3-5 minutes, remove and put an M&M into each one. Let cool and resist the urge to eat the entire tray yourself. Enjoy!
