Be warned, there are alot of photos in this post. I just couldn't stop taking pictures of these cute guys, seriously.... I bet I took about 50 pictures of them! See this great photo above? DON'T do this! This was my first batch and they were WAY to close together. Instead, space them as shown in the photo below. Only doing 5 or 6 caramels at a time not only gives you more room but also allows you to work on them while they are melted. Once lined up on the cookie sheet, put them in a 275 degree oven until melted, 5-7 minutes. Once melted, resist the urge to lick the hot cookie sheet and working quickly, put your antlers (pretzels) in place. I then popped the cookie sheet back in the oven for about 2 minutes, to resoften the caramels. I then pulled it out of the oven and placed the eyes and nose. You can't go wrong here. I think not being perfect, gives these guys some character, some individuality. Once the eyes and nose were in place, I popped them back in the oven for another 2 minutes again, to soften. Then removed from oven and gave each riendeer eyes & nose a little push into the caramel to secure them. Wonky eyes make them cute! I didn't use stick in some of them so that I could add them to my Christmas sweet tray. Shortbread, macroons, date squares and happy reindeer. "Hello Mr. Reindeer", yeah I talk to them..... "Don't you just have the cutest little eyes & nose" Too cute to eat, don't you think?

Oopsy... I just used eye bought from the bulk food store but Walmart and grocery stores usually carry them too. They run about 24 eyes for $3.00
