A friend posted on facebook - " FREE FREE FREE FREE ! " " I've got 4 dressers, for anyone who wants them, yours for the taking " Well, I do delcare (in my best southern accent)... the sky opened, the sun came out and angels began to sing! I happily took 2 from her and then a few days later I asked if this was still available "yup" she said...... so I called "dibs". Not really a dresser, this secretary was calling out for a makeover. So, I pulled out my new addiction - Van Gogh Chalk Paint I've used this paint on several projects that I'll be revealing one at a time but I've already shared these 2 projects. I used the Van Gogh Chalk paint in the colour 'Chalk' but I've done more colourful pieces as well, which you'll see soon. I did 2 coats of the chalk paint, let it dry over night and then started distressing. It's weird, you paint and then remove the paint, it would be like cleaning the house and then going around messing it up again. Distressing is more fun though! I added a bee, big fat bees are the best. I changed the drop down knob to a flower, spray painted all the hardware. I distressed where is would naturally except I probably should have distressed more around the handles and knobs but sometimes I like to show off the hardware. The yucky brass looks so much better now. I can't tell you how much I LOVE this piece, I want to keep it but I don't have a place for it. It is pretty funny how you lovingly work on a piece and get attached to it, sometimes they are so hard to part with. Another peek at the BEFORE & AFTER. Now she's all prettied up, she's looking for a good home. Enjoy!
